The Maypole Project is a non-profit, small charity who support children with complex medical needs, Special educational needs and disabilities and their family. We provide emotional well-being to the whole family from diagnosis (including ante-natal) through treatment and beyond. Our support is free, ongoing and flexible. At our Green Street Green location, we have a wonderful sensory centre, which Maypole families, NCT groups and the general public hire and hold various sessions such as Stay&Play!
To book please call 01689 851596 or email intern@themaypoleproject.co.uk. More information can be found on our website https://www.themaypoleproject.co.uk/sensory-cabin/ Children and families can benefit from using our state-of-the-art equipment, including interactive play areas, wall mirrors, light tubes, flexible, soft play and coloured fibre optics. And a soft play equipment area as well as access to our sensory garden and mud kitchen. A sensory room is a stimulating environment aimed at developing hand-eye coordination, motor skills, colour recognition, communication and sensory skills for children with sensory impairments. We find that regular access to a sensory room or sensory equipment can make significant improvements on a child’s emotional health and enhance their learning experience. Our sensory room can also be used as a calm space. Our family/play room is a safe space with soft play equipment and play equipment for your child to enjoy. Our sensory garden is a great outdoor space with a mud kitchen and other outdoor pieces of play equipment.
