The Hold is a Suffolk County Council Service located in Fore Street on Ipswich's Waterfront. It's home to Suffolk Archives, preserving and sharing more than 900 years of Suffolk history, and the John Blatchly Local Studies Library.
There's an exhibition gallery, shop, cafe, and teaching spaces shared with the University of Suffolk. It stages a varied programme of countywide events, exhibitions and what's on events.
The shop and exhibition are open 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday. The archives and local studies are open 10am-4.30pm, Tuesday-Saturday.
