Prior to running the York franchise, I taught in primary schools for 12 years before leaving to have my 2 boys. After this, I continued with my love of teaching through my private tutoring business. This highlighted for me the importance of introducing literacy skills prior to school in order to help prepare little ones and build up their confidence.
As my true passion lies with phonics, I jumped at the opportunity to offer these sessions to children and parents. They allow me to ensure a child’s first experience of phonics is a fun, exciting one and to teach this through a combination of music, dancing, role play and games-the best way! I also love that the classes include parents and carers, which builds their confidence to support at home and once their child starts school.
