Review: Turn2Me DLX i-Size R129 360º Rotating Car Seat, worth £190

I was very happy to be asked to test and review the GRACO TURN2ME DLX I-SIZE R129 Carseat, which I installed in my Toyota Yaris with my 16 week old daughter.

Packaging
The carseat arrived well packaged with recyclable cardboard inserts and minimal plastic. The item arrives fully built and ready to install. The 2-year warranty included is also a nice touch.

Comfort and Safety
The biggest pro of this carseat for me is that it goes from birth to approximately 4 years making an already affordable carseat even more cost-effective. The padded inserts for newborns are easily removable. The seat, whilst bulky, is sturdy and feels secure. The side-impact protection pod gives additional peace of mind. The straps are easy to use and the buckle features a red/green system to show when it’s correctly fastened. The 360 spin function is effective and easy to use.

Fitting
The carseat is easy to install, with lock-guides included in the package making fitting even easier still. The manual that accompanies the carseat is not particularly informative or useful; I found the instructions provided by the QR code to be very informative and useful. While it would be easy enough to remove and reinstall the carseat, it’s weight and bulkiness prevent this from being an option.

Cons
Being able to use the seat or base individually with other aspects of my existing travel system would have been a bonus while little one is so young and already travels with so many components. I also would have liked an integrated sun shade canopy. The weight of the carseat is also very heavy, although this is balanced by the knowledge that it is a robust and comfortable seat.

Summary
This was my first time using a 360 base and I have found the feature to be beneficial, especially when parked in a tight space or carrying other items. Overall I am please with this car seat. It feels safe and secure for my little one while also providing a comfortable position for longer car journeys. While it is bulky and heavy, I don’t see this being a long-term issue if you are not planning to move the seat between vehicles on a regular basis.
