Review: Start-Rite Boys Black Leather Riptape School Shoes, worth £50

When we were given the chance to review a pair of Start-Rite's school shoes, we jumped at the chance, knowing that they have been making children's shoes for many, many years, well since 1792 to be exact, we knew that they wouldn't disappoint.

Start-Rite School Shoes

Shopping for school shoes can be one of the hardest tasks of the summer holidays, trying to find the best pair that will not only please your little ones and that they will be happy to wear, but that will also last longer than just one term.

We received the STRIKE Black Leather Boys Riptape School Shoes and was very impressed with them as soon as we opened the box. The quality of the shoes was outstanding with absolutely no flaws whatsoever, they are a solid, sturdy shoe but at the same time they are lightweight which I really liked.

With my son having to wear them all day, every day whilst at school, I wanted to make sure they were going to be right for him and know that he is going to be comfortable in them and after wearing the shoes for a few hours already to wear them in, it looks like we have exactly what we were looking for.

The shoes are very easy for him to put them on and also take them off himself with the two easy velcro fastening straps.  When I asked him what he thought of them he said in his own words, "They are nice I really like them," then when I asked him if they were comfortable he said, "Yes and you know what mummy? They make me run faster!" And off he went running round the house in them for the next 5 minutes :-)

One feature on this particular shoe that I really liked is the scuff-resistant bumpers, which is something that I have to look for in any shoe I purchase, as I have football mad boy that is always found playing football on the playground at breaktime and lunchtime, so having these bumpers really do help in making the shoes last until he actually grows out of them and I feel this will be a very attractive feature to a lot of parents, as there is nothing more frustrating than getting scuffs appearing in the first few weeks of being back to school.

Other features of this shoe is the breathable mesh lining which I think is important to help keep little ones feet fresh throughout the day and also the durable, chunky sole which makes it comfortable when standing on any type of surface.

All in all I am very pleased with these shoes and would highly recommend them to any parent, whether your little one is just starting their school journey or nearing the end of it, there is a wide range of styles available which you can find at
