Review: Memory Bunny Keepsake, worth £45

Review by VIP Club Member Caroline O'Gorman

I hadn’t appreciated how wonderful owning this Memory Bunny would be for our child, not just for us as the parents. Our son loves to hear the stories about the items of clothes the Memory Bunny wears, about why they are important to us and where they came from.

Our son used to wear a shirt his dad wore when he was little and now the Memory Bunny wears it too!  He is not a five-and-a-half-year-old who usually cuddles teddies, but this one has come everywhere with us; he has a name and he’s even made a mini bed for him! I think it’s the memories and stories associated with a time he can’t remember which mean a lot to him and evokes special memories for all of us.

At first, it was hard to think about the meaningful clothes being turned into something else, but it is so much better they are made into a tactile Memory Bunny than being left in a drawer. The item has been beautifully sewn and you can have your child’s name embroidered on the front if you wish. Interfacing is put on the back of knitted items (useful for those cardigans nanny has made!). The best part of the items are thoughtfully showcased by their careful positioning on the bunny (for example, a cashmere star from a jumper or the coloured embroidery thread from a holiday shirt).

Our only dilemma now is, do we let it become a well-cuddled and well-worn Memory Bunny or do we leave it on a top shelf as a keep sake?  I think we’ll have no choice in it being the former!
