Review: Kid's Waterproof Changing Robe, worth £84.95

We were asked to review the Red Equipment Kids’ Waterproof Changing Robe, which I was very happy to do as my son Joey, age 10, has weekly football training sessions and matches, which with the Great British weather in the winter is not very pleasant and the robe has made a huge difference in making the sessions and matches a lot more bearable for him.

We tried it out on the first rainy and windy match that we had this season and it was amazing, coming off the pitch shivering cold and wet, he popped the robe on and within minutes he was a lot warmer and very cosy. The waterproof shell kept any further rain and wind out, and the deep‑pile sherpa fleece lining gave him proper warmth when he stripped down to his skin layers.

Joey also liked the fleece‑lined pockets and adjustable hood, both handy to protect and warm up again the chilly, wet weather. 

The roomy, oversized fit meant he could easily slip it on over his skin layers (and kit if needed) and because of it's size, it is going to last him plenty of years, which makes it very good value for money.

Because the fabric is breathable and moisture‑wickling, he didn’t overheat on the slightly milder days, but on really cold and wet sessions, it was just what he needed to stay comfortable.

We chose the Stealth Black colour, but there are various different colours available and they come in two different sizes, ages 4-9 years and 8-13 years. 

Finally, I appreciate that it’s built to last, the quality is amazing, the outer shell is tough, the recycled‑polyester material feels durable, and it’s easy to wash and dry between games. 

All in all this robe offers superb protection and warmth. I’d say this is one of the best winter coats you can get for a child doing outdoor sports like football or having to spend any time in the great outdoors and would highly recommend it to any parent dealing with UK’s unpredictable winter weather.
