Review: Brainstorm Halftoys Ocean World Set, worth £50

The Brainstorm Halftoys World Set is an imaginative, educational, hands-on activity set for children to enjoy and we absolutely loved it!

From the first opening, we were very excited to dive straight in with the beautiful colours and detailed designs of the ‘Ocean World’ theme. With 5 sea animal 3D puzzles to put together, my 4-year-old took no time to read the instructions and loved working out which skeletons went in which animals’ bodies, they all clicked together easily as they are magnetic!

After reading the instructions we got started on building the main feature, the Ocean Habitat. I’ll be honest, this was a little fiddly for my son’s fingers but with my help and guidance, we managed to put together the main base. He then became very curious and jumped straight into the challenge of assembling the underwater plants and did an amazing job!

Once this was complete, my son and I spent tons of time playing with the scene, taking it in turns pretending to be each animal and having an adventurous role-play afternoon together.

My favourite part of the set has got to be the sea animal models. Even though they are very simplistic, they fit together easily due to the magnetic structures and are sturdy and strong to withstand the endless hours of imaginative play. They are also very safe and suitable for smaller children too.

A massive bonus that I didn’t realise at first is that the whole scene folds in half! You simply pop all the scenery bits inside, fold it over and it holds everything together, perfect to travel and play on-the-go!

Overall, this is an amazing set that will lead to many conversations and role-play opportunities for you and your little ones. Although I’d recommend an adult's help for some of the trickier construction parts, I think I secretly enjoyed getting stuck in myself too!
