Review: Baby & Toddler Range Bundle from Orchard Toys, worth £44

We were very excited to be chosen to review the Orchard Toys Baby & Toddler Range Bundle. The puzzles and games are aimed at a wide age range, from 9 months+ up to 18 months+. My son is currently 15 months old and has enjoyed all of the items, but for different reasons depending on how challenging they are.

See and Sound Giant Flashcards – 5 stars
These are aimed at 9+ months and include 24 cards (12 pairs of animals). The cards are a really good size and easy for little hands to hold. They are a thick cardboard style material and don’t easily bend, which makes them good quality for younger children. The pack also comes with a learning guide booklet that gives ideas on how to use the cards, such as talking about the animals, “can you find the…?” and matching the animals together. I think these are a great gift as they can be used in lots of different ways as a child grows. I’ve given them 5 stars because while they are sturdy and I would highly recommend them as a long lasting product.

Under the Sea Wooden Nesting Puzzle – 3 stars
This puzzle is aimed at 1+ years and includes five wooden sea creature pieces. The pieces are well made and easy for toddlers to pick up. Even though there are only five pieces, I felt this puzzle was quite difficult for the age range it’s aimed at, as the shapes are very specific and tricky for a one-year-old to fit correctly. It’s a lovely puzzle and good quality, but I think it would be better suited to older toddlers, which is why I’ve rated it 3 stars. This rating could increase if played with by an older child.

Match and Feel Two-Piece Puzzle – 4 stars
This puzzle is aimed at 18+ months and includes six jungle animals that split into two pieces, each with a textured section. The pieces are large, thick and easy to hold, and the textured areas are interesting and big enough for small children to explore and tell the difference between. I can see my son using this more as he gets older. I’ve dropped one star as I don’t agree with the jungle theme advertised, the theme is more appropriately African animals, the textures on the snake and elephant are also very similar.

Woodland Chunky Wooden Puzzle – 5 stars
This puzzle is aimed at 1+ years and includes seven chunky woodland animals, around 1cm thick. The pieces are easy for little hands to grab, feel very good quality, and the bright colours make it easy for children to see where each piece goes. This is a lovely gift and one my son really enjoys playing with, as do I, so I’ve given it 5 stars.

Overall, I would give the bundle 5 stars out of 5.
