Review: Baby Born Splish Splash Tub with Teddy, worth £19.99

Baby Born Splish Splash Tub with Teddy is a very attractive and highly interactive bath time toy. My son, who is 3 years old, absolutely loved playing with it, and it has proved a real bath time highlight and is currently his favourite bath time toy.

The tub attaches firmly to your bath or tiles using three rubber suction pads on the back. It was a little fiddly to get all three to remain attached but once they were in place they held very firmly.

There are many features of the splish splash bath tub. It features a tree shower, where you fill the basin provided with water and pour it into the top of the tree, it then comes out of the tree, giving the teddy a shower in the bath and also turning the water wheel. This was a lot of fun, especially turning the water wheel. The slight frustration was that my son found it rather challenging to aim the water from the basin into the tree, this is due to the rather limited angle of the tree shower opening once you have affixed it to the bath. However, this did not deter him, and he merrily persevered, splashing water everywhere, but it may be more difficult for a younger child.

Once the bath tub is full, which happens rather fast following enthusiastic tree showering, you can easily remove the butterfly bath plug and drain the bath, which was also a lot of fun. The final added bonus is that teddy himself is able to swim. You wind his arms backwards and he power swims around your bath. We didn’t initially realise he could do this, and it was an added extra feature which my son found very exciting, plus then we could race to see who could make teddy swim the fastest.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Baby Born Splish Splash Tub with Teddy. It’s a bright and jolly addition to any bathroom, and has a variety of interactive elements for different ages. It is a brilliant way to train fine motor skills while having fun with water in the bath. It’s a big bath time hit in our house and is likely to remain the favourite bath toy for quite some time.
