Humpty Bumpty specialise in non-diagnostic 3D and 4D ultrasound scans.[/caption] The Very Latest and Best Pregnancy Scans Now Available in Milton Keynes Busy businesswoman Lucy Johnson juggles being a mother of four young boys with running her own successful scanning clinic for mums-to-be. The 33-year-old Buckinghamshire business owner set up Humpty Bumpty in Milton Keynes, after having a detailed scan during her one of her own pregnancies. Lucy felt a deep bonding experience having seen on screen what her first son Lennon looked like before he was born and decided she wanted other pregnant women to have the opportunity to enjoy something similar. Lucy loved being pregnant, immersing herself in all aspects of parenthood and the idea of setting up a baby scanning clinic was conceived and Humpty Bumpty was born! Lucy said: “At Humpty Bumpty we specialise in non-diagnostic 3D and 4D ultrasound scans that allow parents and their family members to see the baby before it’s born, providing a positive bonding experience that lasts a lifetime.
“It is so special for us to be able to share these precious times with parents. All our staff and sonographers are fully trained and qualified. “Understandably many mums-to-be have a lot of questions about their baby’s development and their pregnancy. So we also have midwives and nurses that work at Humpty Bumpty who can offer advice and assurance. Having given birth to my four boys, who are aged between eight and seven months, I often get asked about my own experiences.” [caption id="attachment_1916" align="aligncenter" width="500"] There are midwives and nurses that work at Humpty Bumpty who can offer advice and assurance[/caption] Lucy trained as sonographer and has carried out hundreds of baby bump scans. Lucy’s latest addition is to offer new advanced 4D technology - HDlive - so parents can see their unborn son or daughter in the greatest clarity and detail as possible. Humpty Bumpty is the only baby scanning clinic to offer this revolutionary technology in the region. Understandably Lucy, who is married to Ben, is excited about the latest arrival at Humpty Bumpty. Lucy said: “The new HDlive technology is a real game changer in the industry. It is amazing to see how detailed the baby’s features are and parents are astounded at what they can see during the scan. “The HDlive is an advanced illumination model that supports shadows and introduces a virtual light source alongside advanced skin rendering techniques, which provide the best quality image. We are the only clinic in the area offering this innovative technology.” To produce such an amazing insight and crystal clear clarity, Humpty Bumpty, which is registered with and regulated by the independent regulator of health and social care in England, the Care Quality Commission, uses industry leading equipment - the Voluson E8 Expert - enabling them to capture remarkable images of the baby in the womb. [caption id="attachment_1917" align="aligncenter" width="500"] There are plenty of toys to keep younger children entertained whilst you enjoy your scan[/caption] Being a working mum herself it was important to Lucy to ensure the clinic was as family friendly as possible offering evening appointments for flexibility for working parents as well as being open 9am - 6pm on Saturdays. The rural setting for the clinic offers a welcoming and relaxing environment where parents can visit for their special scan with up to 10 family guests. There are plenty of toys to keep younger ones entertained too. Lucy said: “When we had the opportunity to buy the scanning equipment we decided to do it. I had 4D scans during my first pregnancy and the quality wasn’t as it is now. It’s our new HDlive technology that makes all the difference. When you put the HDlive on it becomes so much more of a bonding experience for everyone present. “Even now I am still amazed and wowed by the HDlive scans - it is remarkable that you can see exactly what your baby is going to look like when they are born.” Humpty Bumpty recently relaunched after closing for a while - ironically because of babies! Lucy had three sonographers who were pregnant at the same time, including herself and a receptionist, so she took the decision to close temporarily during the multiple staff pregnancies and rebrand the business when it recently reopened. Now Lucy wants everyone to know they are very much back in business. [caption id="attachment_1918" align="aligncenter" width="500"] The rural setting for the clinic offers a welcoming and relaxing environment[/caption] Lucy underwent an intensive training course to use the revolutionary, state of the art scanning equipment, which is supplied by GE Healthcare who supply scanning equipment for hospitals. Clinic owner and director, Lucy discovered she was a born natural when it came to being trained as a sonographer. Scans can be carried out at Humpty Bumpty from 12 weeks in pregnancy and from 23 weeks when opting for the 3D and 4D scans. “Being able to see your baby in such detail helps with the bonding process. It helps you bond because you can see them before they are born and you know what they are going to look like and parents go away with pictures, DVDs and they share those with their family and often look at those pictures every day. We have got the best scan machine possible, people come from miles, as the other closest location is London. We are all fully qualified and it is so friendly it is like a family business.” Baby scan prices start at £50 and 4D bonding scan packages range from £100 - £150.
