The Story Museum welcomes HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on Tuesday 20th February
Oxford, UK 13th February 2024
The Story Museum is delighted to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh for a visit to the Museum on Tuesday 20th February.
His Royal Highness will observe a schools’ session in Small Worlds, before paying a visit to The Story Museum’s immersive gallery spaces. The Duke will be welcomed by a Story Guide in the Museum’s Portal area, before hearing traditional storytelling in the Whispering Wood.
His Royal Highness will then see ‘Brilli-Ant!’ in The Treasure Chamber, an exhibition crafted by the artist, Lottie Smith, in recycled cardboard, exploring ideas around climate action through the eyes of a tiny ant.
His Royal Highness will also explore some of the eight Story Worlds within The Enchanted Library; these include a recently re-imagined Alice-in-Wonderland inspired display, which takes its inspiration from the opening chapters of Lewis Carroll’s enduring classic. His Royal Highness will meet some of the young Story Curators, aged between 12-16 whose designs, such as the new dressing up costumes, feature in the re-developed Alice display.
