The Core at Corby Cube is pleased to announce that they will be offering their online Sparks classes completely free of charge this term for children aged between 5 and 11 years old.
Ordinarily, Sparks would have a term fee to help subsidise the cost of practitioners and staff to run the classes. Given the difficult circumstances for many this term, the venue wanted to make sure that they were doing all they could to help the pressure for families and make sure that these fun sessions were available to everyone in the community who might need it.
The Corby venue invites children who have not taken part before to join their online sessions on a drop in basis week to week - there is no obligation for commitment further down the line and their friendly team will be more than happy to give you an overview of what sessions will entail before your child joins in.
Led by experienced theatre practitioners, these fun, inspiring and creative Sparks sessions enable children to have fun playing a wide range of theatre games, whilst developing their confidence and making new friends. Throughout the term they will work towards a showcase performance which parents will be invited to watch virtually in March.
On offering free sessions for this term, The Core’s Director Joe Flavin said:
“With schools shut, we know that this lockdown may be placing a lot of stress and strain on families at the moment, both mentally and financially.
We are thrilled to offer Sparks for free this term and hope that these fun sessions will give some respite in what are difficult times for many”
Sparks sessions will take place every Saturday morning at the following times:
- 10am to 11am for 5 - 7 year olds
- 11.15am to 12.15pm for 8 – 11 year olds
