Spooktacular Surprises as the Haunted Castle returns to Warwick Castle

Head to Warwick Castle to meet ghosts, ghouls, wizards and witches on a Halloween adventure brimming with spooky tales, scary fun and themed activities for all ages, as The Haunted Castle returns this October.

From 23-31 October (10am to 5pm), guests can expect to be thoroughly spooked as they explore The Haunted Castle’s eek-citing new attractions, returning shows and much-loved roaming Halloween characters.

Whether it is marvelling at the Witches of Warwick as they brew potions and spells, greeting spooky characters in the brand-new Upscares Downscares show, trailing through the Haunted Hollows, visiting the Witches Tower or unravelling eerie experiences in the Horrible HistoriesⓇ Maze - Warwick Castle has family-friendly frights for all!

Budding young, glamourous sorcerers will love the new Wizards and Witches Schools, where they can learn how to cast a spell with a flick of their wand and discover the secret potions bubbling away in the Witches of Warwick’s cauldrons. Little ones still yearning to learn? Head to Troll Hunter School, where they can learn to defend the Castle and defeat any invading trolls.

Guests exploring the interior of the Castle can enjoy the all-new Upscares Downscares show, filled with spooky aristocratic characters, their haunted help, treats - and, of course, tricks - that are sure to get children of all ages into the spirit of Halloween.

The Witches of Warwick have once again taken over the Castle’s Princess Tower this Halloween, turning it into their very own Witches Tower. Working together with the witches of the Castle to find the answer to eternal youth, young sorcerers can help create spells and potions in this magically spooky interactive experience.

What’s more, visitors can search the spooky mansion, navigate the eerie Haunted Hollows trail - which is back by popular demand - and be spellbound by a range of quirky characters, spooky activities and spellbinding shows, including the much-loved Dead Centre Stage.

Discover the gruesome truth of history with a visit to the Horrible Histories® Maze (including the new for 2021 Vile Victorians), hear the tales of The Haunted Castle from the roaming characters and marvel at the birds of prey as they soar overhead in the epic Falconer’s Quest show.

The family fun doesn’t stop there though, there’s towers and ramparts to climb, battlements to defend with have a go archery* and medieval weaponry to awe at in the Great Hall, as well as 64-acres of eerie grounds to explore.

Those brave enough can head to the creepy Castle Dungeon (ages 10yrs +), where live actors and special effects bring gruesome tales of some of the bloodiest and most frightening years of the Castle’s darkest history to life.

Spooky Sleepovers at Fright’s Village

Those wanting to spend the ‘knight’ at the Castle can stay at the ‘Fright’s Village’ for a dreadfully good unique sleepover among whispering trees in the Castle grounds. Every stay includes two daytime entry tickets to the Castle, a hearty breakfast in the Knight’s Village Restaurant, free parking, and an exclusive spooktacular evening ghost story before cosying up safe and sound in medieval-themed Woodland Lodges. Expect a visit from a witch or wizard at breakfast in the Knight’s Village the following morning.
