Introducing PLANET MOON | Original Children’s Stories from Space

Pumpkin Monkey Pictures is super excited to announce the release of Planet Moon: Original Children’s Stories from Space - entirely free to stream on Youtube for everyone to enjoy!

Narrated by a wonderful cast of not just actors, but regular parents also, Planet Moon is a series of illustrated short stories following the adventures of Kimi, Max and Lewis - 2 aliens and a robot that live on the peaceful Planet Moon.

Beneath the surface of Planet Moon is actually quite an impressive achievement, and something that stands for slightly more than just following the colourful exploration of 3 lovable characters; as Sam Dawes, the series’ creator explains - ‘It all started quite innocently at first, I am generally an all round creative person and writing short stories for my kids isn’t something too far out of the ordinary.

But like with most ideas I have, I got carried away and before I knew it I had 12 stories and a handful of illustrations, with a strong urge to do something with…

The last few years has had quite an effect on a lot of people, both socially and emotionally, and so I decided to try and use my passion and creative network to do something positive. I set out, rather ambitiously, to assemble a super diverse cast to narrate my stories on film, which I intended to illustrate myself with over 150 drawings, and eventually release for free on YouTube - with an emphasis on exposing our own kids, and hopefully others, to as many different faces as possible.

It was a huge amount of work to undertake, but luckily over the years I have encircled myself with a lot of generous and incredibly talented people, who donated their time to help me complete this project. I’m really proud of what we’ve put together and can’t wait for people to see it!’

The series is directed by Sam Dawes, with performances by Jamie O’Neill, Keisha Atwell, Premi Tamang and Isabella Colby Browne - also with narrations from parents John Seru and Rupi Panesar.
