Fall Down the Rabbit Hole with Alice this February Half Term
Oxford, UK: 6th February 2024
The Story Museum is delighted to announce the unveiling of its reimagined immersive Alice-in-Wonderland display within the Enchanted Library Gallery. Drawing inspiration from the opening chapters of Lewis Carroll's timeless tale, the museum is inviting visitors to tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice.
Set to be revealed in time for February half-term, the new space promises to transport visitors into the whimsical world of Wonderland. As guests step into the exhibit, they will find themselves surrounded by a surreal landscape featuring floating furniture, whimsical tea sets, and charming signs of the elusive White Rabbit.
‘Visitors of all ages love our Enchanted Library where you can step into eight different story worlds. Our production team have worked with a group of young creatives, our Story Curators, who are all aged 12-16 to reimagine our Alice in Wonderland space. We hope this will give our visitors a chance to experience the magic and curiosity of Wonderland at first hand,' says Ameneh Enayat, senior producer at the Story Museum. ‘The young Story Curators have designed some of the interactive elements of the space, such as the dressing up costumes; they’ve also devised a word game and a nonsense map.’
The Story Museum co-ordinates Oxford's annual celebration of Alice in Wonderland, with this year's Alice’s Day, taking place on Saturday 6th July 2024. Venues across Oxford will be celebrating this enduring classic with family activities, street theatre, storytelling and more. For more details visit www.storymuseum.org.uk/alice
