800 Ipswich Kids Learn to be Life Savers
Written by Mini First Aid
At Mini First Aid, teaching children life-saving first aid is what we do best – in fact, we are the biggest paediatric training company in the UK training over 1000 families in life saving first aid every week!
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Inspire Suffolk, who together with the Ipswich Opportunity Area are funding 800 children to learn how to save a life! Our fantastic local Mini First Aid trainer Naomi Cooper will run off her socks over the next few weeks teaching life-saving skills to 53 classes in nurseries, preschools and primary schools across Ipswich. Children will learn how to make a 999 call if someone they love gets hurt and how to do bandages and plasters (using poorly Teddy as a prop!). They also learn what to do if Teddy has a bump and how to do the recovery position!
These award winning classes have been extremely well received in nurseries so far with Amanda Goldsmith, the manager of ABC Childcare in Ipswich saying:
"ABC Childcare would like to thank the Ipswich Opportunity Area (IOA) for funding such a wonderful opportunity for our children. Naomi tailored her delivery perfectly and engaged all the children. The 999 song has become a firm favourite at carpet time."
Mini First Aid started from Kate Ball’s kitchen table in 2014, with a vision to train people in first aid in a relaxed, accessible manner. Their family friendly ethos means babies can come to our classes and family or friends can organise first aid training in the comfort of their own home. In 2021 Kate and her husband Matt took Mini First Aid into the Dragons’ Den where they received an investment from Sara Davies MBE.
