Tumble Tots is a structured physical play program for children from 6 months to school age. Tumble Tots allows children the opportunity to participate in an active physical play program using specially designed colourful equipment.
6 Months - Walking - The 6 Months – Walking class is a wonderful introduction to the Tumble Tots program. Parents and babies are given the opportunity to participate in an exploratory play class which in turn allows for both to become confident with our equipment and for the parent to understand the physical capabilities of their own babies.
From as early as 6 months old, it has been suggested, babies need to build their social awareness and have rich language exposure to enhance their cognitive development. During the class parents and babies have the opportunity to join in with circle times which provide a gentle introduction to Tumble Tots rhymes and action songs.
Tumble Tots staff are trained to a high level so they are able to provide information, guidance and support to parents depending on the individual development stage of their child. Through specifically designed equipment setups, babies are able to enhance their movement memory ready to continue on their Tumble Tots journey once they begin to walk confidently.
Confidently Walking – 2 Years - As children begin to walk confidently they progress into the Walking – 2 Years class.
Tumble Tots staff actively work with parents to provide activities that will introduce the confident walker to more advanced physical skills such as climbing, jumping, rolling amongst many other elementary physical activities.
With so much energy the children begin the class by going straight onto the equipment which is laid out in a circuit formation. This allows for the children to learn at their own pace and where necessary repeat an activity in order to build their individual physical confidence.
Co-ordination equipment is also available throughout the class to assist with the development of your child’s hand/eye and hand/foot co-ordination skills.
At this stage of a child’s development we recognise the importance to provide an environment where continued language development is offered. Through carefully constructed Circle Times, children are given the opportunity to join in with Body Identification Rhymes to enhance their limited and ever growing vocabulary along with exciting Action Songs!
2 – 3 Years - A Tumble Tot who enters the 2 - 3 Years class can once again expect a brand new challenge which is specially tailored around their specific developmental stage! The equipment is now more challenging, laid out in defined “stations” where children have the opportunity to build upon their gross motor skills development.
Interaction with other children is now more important and moving between the different activity stations encourages children to develop their listening, as well as their social skills in terms of learning to follow instructions, taking turns, and being part of a team all whilst having fun together.
3 Years – School Age - By the time Tumble Tots have reached the 3 – School Age class they are now ready to take part in more independent learning! The children take part in the class without parental involvement giving them the essential confidence needed in completing tasks on their own!
The structure and format of the class stays the same as that of the 2 – 3 Years class however the children are now encouraged to push their skills further by taking part in more advanced, physical activities.
