We've got 84 acres of glorious countryside, 17 fascinating buildings, a farm of rare breed animals and over 40,000 objects in our collection for you to explore in the heart of beautiful Suffolk – from wartime ration recipes to a full size steam-powered mill engine.
At the Food Museum, we have activities on every day exploring growing, making and eating food! Meet our rare breed animals, experience our annual exhibitions, try delicious tasters and try your hand at farming, as well as discovering our historic buildings, taking part in cooking workshops and much more.
From cheese-making to brewing, historic breads to seasonal eating, we are here to engage audiences with the heritage of food and the communities who grow and make it. We explore themes connected by food – social, historical, technological, industrial, environmental – and to give visitors hands-on experiences which bring processes alive, teach skills and share memories.
