The Pre-school is situated at Warwick Space in Coten End and has been established for 50 years. The Pre-school is managed by a management committee comprising of current parents and the manager.
Coten End Pre-school is open between 9am and 12 noon Monday to Friday during term time. We operate lunch club every day from 12 noon to 1.00 pm for all children.
Caterpillars - caters for children aged from 2 years old. This group is based in two rooms that provide a wide variety of activities that cover all the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Butterflies - caters for pre-school children. This group operates in the main hall of the youth centre and also covers all the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Both rooms have access to our garden, which provides children with planned activities every day and opportunity to explore outside. The children are encouraged to play outside all year round.
Our staff have a wealth of experience within Early Years many of which have more than 10 years experience based in this setting. The manager has NNEB qualification and NVQ Level 4 in management; the two deputies hold Diplomas in Pre-school Practice Level 3; majority of staff have NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education.
It is our policy that all staff attend training throughout the year to keep abreast of new legal requirements and new ideas in the childcare field.
Parents as Partners
At Coten End Pre-school we understand the importance of parent involvement as parents are encouraged to share their talents with the children and in the everyday activities that are on offer. The management committee is maintained by parents of current children attending pre-school
The Pre-school organises stay and play sessions throughout the year.
