NAMING DAY CEREMONIES

The birth of a new baby, twins, triplets and more?!

Naming ceremonies are a non-religious alternative to baptisms.

This is a beautiful bespoke ceremony written by you to welcome your new arrival / arrivals to the world and share their name with family, friends and the wider community. Each script is unique and personal to you and your children.

Naming ceremonies can be arranged by any parent or guardian, and there is no age limit so older children can be included in the same ceremony.

The ceremony has no legal standing but it is an opportunity for parents to commit their love and support for their child through vows and promises.

You can choose your child's Supporting Adults (also known as Guide Parents or God Parents) and ask them to make their promises to the child and how they will support them in the future.

It is becoming increasingly popular to gather the family and friends together in one place and use a naming ceremony alongside first birthday celebrations.

A certificate of the day can also be signed by the parents, supporters and grandparents during or at the end of the ceremony.

WELCOME CEREMONIES

A naming ceremony can be used as a formal welcoming event for adopted children and stepchildren into a new relationship and form part of the family bonding within an extended family unit.

The age of the child / children does not matter.

Quite often couples who have booked a civil marriage or civil partnership like to add the facility of a naming ceremony immediately after their own ceremony. This brings a much richer dimension to the day of celebration and commitment across the whole family.
