Review: The Zoogie Boogie Club in Warwick
Review written by Kate Callinan
We went to The Zoogie Boogie Club today - we had a fabulous time.
The session was well organised and secure from start to finish. There is an area where you can leave coats and shoes before entering the gated area where the session takes place. It is a great padded floor space with extra soft mats which are brightly coloured and clean alongside the huge variety of climbing/crawling/balancing items. There was a gentleman who worked alongside Victoria to add/remove the items to suit the song or part of the session EG dinosaur food added, stepping stones etc.
The benefit of the gate meant that I knew my little one could explore independently without me having to worry that they would escape. The gate would mean I could take my autistic goddaughter with me and it would eliminate the risk of her eloping.
The session allowed some time for the little ones to explore the activity stations set out before the session leader Victoria came in to start the singing. She engaged the little ones in a way which was to be admired! Stevie ran to see what was going on and I noticed even the adults were hooked in! At times, Stevie toddled off and explored the items leaving other children engaging in Victoria’s led activity - this felt comfortable and I didn’t feel any pressure to change what Stevie had decided to do. It was free flow and child led which is just my favourite kind of activity. Stevie was in her element.
The ideas and utilisation of the apparatus was great and the kids were fully invested. As stated above, Stevie was engaged without a doubt. I have been to several children’s groups with a similar intention but The Zoogie Boogie Club far surpasses every other experience we have had.
