Review: Polarn O. Pyret Swimwear
By Catherine Hau
I received the Polarn O. Pyret UV kids swimsuit for review which arrived just in time for a family mini break at a hotel with an indoor and outdoor pool.
We were already off to a good start with the swimsuit being pink and flowery which is a prerequisite these days. My daughter turned 4 earlier this year and is of a slim build so in hindsight I would probably have been better off with the size 2-4 years as the 4-6 years swimsuit came up quite roomy on her. Although, there’s plenty of room to grow into so I can see it lasting us for quite some time.
The swimsuit is made of great quality fabric which offers a UV protection rating of UPF 50. It also ticks the sustainability credentials box by being made from recycled materials. The garment is well made with all seams finished to a high standard and a sturdy zip that my daughter could operate herself with ease.
We had a mini heatwave whilst we were away and the swimsuit protected most of her body and the collar was high enough to cover most of her neck. My daughter doesn’t normally like the feeling of wet fabric clinging to her but the swimsuit is made of chlorine resistant fabric which is lightweight enough not to be uncomfortable when wet against the skin and it also dried really quickly.
In terms of washing, the swimsuit is fine to go into a washing machine on a 40 degree wash and it doesn’t pill or bobble like some swimsuit fabric does. All in all I was extremely happy with the product and will definitely look at other Polarn O. Pyret swimsuit options as the quality is excellent.
