Review: Bunch O Bubbles Motorised Mega Bubble Blaster, worth £19.99

Review by VIP Club Member Robbie Tee

The Bunch o Bubbles from Zuru is a portable bubble machine shaped like a gun. It was a bit difficult to remove from the packaging but once opened, the setup is pretty straightforward: put the bubble solution into the machine, secure the battery inside the handle, and it is ready for use.

Changing the bubble solution is easy: the whole bottle of solution just attaches inside the machine and is hidden behind a plastic cover. You don’t run the risk of spilling any solution because you don’t need to decant it into the machine. We also didn’t experience any leaks when transporting the machine with the solution inside. Since the solution is hidden inside the machine, it can run out unexpectedly so you might want to keep a spare bottle handy.

The battery is less convenient. It’s secured inside a compartment that is held shut by a screw. It’s a bit of a nuisance to access especially if you’re not near a sufficiently small screw driver.

It comes with a rechargeable battery which reminds me of the kind I’ve seen in remote control cars. The battery life is decent, but it requires a charger you’re unlikely to need for anything else. It’s another bit of clutter you probably don’t really want in your life, and if you take the machine on holiday the charger is something else to remember to pack. It would be better if the machine took AA batteries.

The machine has three spinning bubble wands which do indeed produce a bunch o bubbles. The bubbles are small to medium in size, and come out in an impressive stream. Take care if you use this indoors: the volume of bubbles will make hard floors slippery.

The machine also has some LED lights that turn on when you pull the trigger. For when you’re blowing bubbles in the dark. Maybe?

Overall, the Bunch o Bubbles is a bunch o fun. I’m just not sure why it is shaped like a gun.

Rating: 4/5 (the battery lets it down a bit).
