With Halloween fast approaching, take a look at some of the cool ideas that you can do with your little ones. [caption id="attachment_1630" align="alignright" width="250"] How spooky and cool does this look[/caption]
Sensory Bag with Slimy Eyes
Create a slimy Halloween experience for toddlers without the mess! YOU WILL NEED: * Zip Lock Food Bag * Googly Eyes * Orange Hair Gel * Sellotape/Scotch Tape TO MAKE: This is a simple craft. Just add the hair gel and google eyes in to the zip-lock bag and tape to a window that gets great sunlight and you've created a spooky suncatcher! If you have clear hair gel add food colouring or paint to the bag (or two primary colours to learn about mixing!) for added sensory and mixing fun. How to Carve a Pumpkin
1. Choose one that had a flat bottom so it won't roll. 2. Cut out the lid on an angle. This way the lid won't drop inside the pumpkin. 3. Scoop out all the pulp - an ice cream scoop will do just fine. 4. Keep your pumpkin fresh. Spread petroleum jelly on the cut edges to seal in moisture. 5. If you like to leave the lid on while the candle is lit, create a chimney with a small hole.
Jack O'Lantern Pizza Pockets
These are easy to whip up, they're great for a quick lunch or Halloween party. INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED: * 1 packet of Jus Rol Bake It Fresh Croissant or similar * Pumpkin Cutter * Pizza Sauce * Mozzarella Cheese * Parmesan Cheese (optional) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 190°C/170 Fan. 2. Roll out your dough with a rolling pin so that the seams disappear. 3. Press your pumkin cookie cutter onto the dough. Do this as many times as you can until you run out of dough. 4. You'll have two shapes for each pizza pocket, so use one shape for the face and one for the pizza ingredients. Using a small knife cut out your shapes for the eyes and mouth. 5. Take a second Jack O'Lantern shape and spread 1tbs of pizza sauce on it and then top with cheese. 6. Next place the Jack O'Lantern face on top of your pizza you just made and press the sides to seal. Top with Parmesan cheese. 7. Bake for 13-15 mins until golden brown.
