In a world where young people face a mental health pandemic, we provide social, educational
and therapeutic opportunities through a structured programme of farming-related activities.

The Woad Farm Project is a not-for-profit farm, set up to support the wellbeing of children and young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.

We have a particular focus on looked after or care-experienced children, but are driven by the opportunity to share the benefits of animals, nature and the outdoors to all children.

Sessions leaders are fully DBS checked and First Aid trained too.

These sessions run throughout the school holidays and are open to all children, no matter their background or experiences. Sessions are split into two age groups; 6-11years and 11+. Book via our event page

6 week referral programme

This rolling 6-week block is designed for children and young people who have experienced trauma or have social, emotional or mental health needs. Groups are limited to 5 children. Next group starts after February half term. Make a referral here.

Home school sessions

These sessions take place once a month for children and young people who are home schooled. We provide a learning environment which can be responsive to the group in a setting which nurtures creativity and builds resilience. Book via our event page

Group and school bookings

If you are thinking of bringing a group of children, we offer the opportunity to book sessions by the hour with a dedicated session leader to support learning and ensure children enjoy the farm environment. Email [email protected] to find out more and to book.

As a not for profit, we focus all our efforts on supporting children and young people to access the care farm, and keeping our animals happy and healthy!

Over the Summer we ran a crowdfunder to help us bring ducks and chickens to the farm raising £685 – thank you so much to everyone who contributed!

In December we also hosted a wreath making session and raffle, raising over £500 for the farm!
